Trish O'Brien

Trish graduated from Boston University with a degree in occupational therapy. Trish worked her earlier years in early intervention, schools, clinics, hospitals, and autism centers in Georgia and New Jersey. She has experience working with infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

Trish is certified in many evidence-based, sought-after therapy approaches and methods including Interactive Metronome, Therapeutic Listening Program, Reflex Integration, Sensory Integration (Ayres Sensory Integration, START Institute), DIRFloortime, Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding, and Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT). Her certification in Sensory Integration and Praxis Test and Theory ignited her passion for helping families struggling with sensory, motor, and functional challenges.

To best serve families experiencing these challenges, Trish opened Springboard Pediatric Therapy in 2005. Springboard Pediatric Therapy is founded on the belief that families shouldn’t have to travel far and wide for top-quality therapy. Since its opening nearly 20 years ago, Springboard Pediatric Therapy has provided the highest-quality, transdisciplinary care for families throughout Morris, Essex, Somerset, and Union counties.

Trish continues to grow Springboard Pediatric Therapy with community and excellence at the center of Springboard’s mission. At Springboard Pediatric, Trish is more than the founder; she is a mentor, coach, team leader, and advisor. Trish meticulously selects her therapists based on skill, passion, and commitment to continuing education. Many Springboard Pediatric therapists have been named NJ Favorite Kids' Docs.

When she is not at Springboard, Trish enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband, three children, and two dogs. She loves the outdoors and can be found camping, hiking, and running and biking on local trails. She is an active volunteer in her community, donating her time and passion to local activities related to recreation.
